Plate is made by one person, so you are emailing the person who wrote the code. Most replies land the same day.

Tell me what device you are on and what you were doing when it went wrong. A screenshot helps more than anything.
Email supportCheck spam first. Codes come from [email protected] and the first one to a new address sometimes lands there. Codes expire after 15 minutes, so if it has been longer, request a new one. If nothing arrives after two tries, email support and it will be sorted manually.
Use the forgot password link on the sign in screen. A 6 digit code goes to your email. If that email address no longer works, email support from any address and include the one you signed up with.
Email the name and, ideally, a link to the chain's own nutrition page. Restaurant data only goes in from the chain's published figures, never from crowd sourced listings, so a first party source gets it added much faster. Every row is checked so protein, carbs and fat reconcile with the stated calories within 20 percent. Anything that fails is dropped rather than guessed at.
The camera needs permission and a secure connection. Check that Plate has camera access in your device settings. Scanning does not work on a page opened from a local file.
Open the "How Plate calculates this" screen from your plan summary or from Settings. It names the equation, the activity multipliers, the protein basis, the floors and the pace cap, so you can check the arithmetic yourself. If it still looks off, email support with what you expected and what you saw.
That is deliberate, and it is not a setting. Plate caps the rate of loss at roughly one percent of bodyweight per week and holds a hard calorie floor underneath it. It refuses rather than warns, because a warning you can click past is not a safeguard.
Settings has Export and Delete account. Deletion is immediate and permanent and does not require emailing anyone. See the privacy page for what is held and where.
If your relationship with food or with your body is hard right now, these are free, staffed by people, and have nothing to do with Plate. Verified current as of August 2026.
Plate is not a medical device and does not diagnose or treat anything. Talk to a doctor before changing your diet or training.
